About me

Hello Readers,

I'm in my early 40's and it appears my mother was right in that the older you get the more weight you tend to put on. I weighed about 118lbs up through my late 20's... then wham, along came my twins and I have never seem to be able to shred the extra weight. Here I am, almost 13 years after my girls were born and cringing at the scale when it reads 150lbs. At 5'8" I'm still considered a "healthy" weight, but I don't like the weight I'm at.
I'm not much of an exercise person as I find it boring. I do some light stretches in the morning, some bicycle sit ups and some wall squats, if I have time. This takes me about 15 minutes and by then I'm chopping at the bit to get moving for the day.
The kids and I would get up, grab a small bowl of cereal or a little oatmeal for breakfast and there were even times when one the girls would just skip breakfast. This was not good at all for the present or the future... I was allowing her to build bad habits.
I sat down and talked with the girls and we all agreed that we would try to reverse the way we eat food and see if it helps increase our energy levels and control the weight gain on my end. The girls don't need to loose weight and they will be eating more than I do as they use up a lot more energy than me.
I'm not counting calories or anything else, I'm simply making my larger meals, my first meals. Every meal I eat should be smaller than the meal before it. Large breakfast, good size lunch and a small dinner. The girls have a snack after school and then a piece of fruit about an hour before bed.
